SUCH a shame they don't make them in blued finish anymore. A man can dream, I suppose. For now I've settled with the matte stainless, I just can't bear to have a plastic finish on such a classic handgun.

I've just realised that steel itself is an alloy (half iron, half carbon), so most metal pistols have alloy frames, technically speaking. :)

no where near half carbon, mild steel is like 0.5% carbon and high carbon steel is like 2% carbon

I was looking to buy a hi power and on a whim I googled comparable weapons to the Browning. Man I'm glad I did! After seeing tons of favorable reviews and this won't hold my wallet hostage either. This will be in the collection soon.

Aesthetics only, last I checked the high power doesn't have a slide riding inside the frame rails like the Sig p210, or double/single action trigger like most european pistols from from 1950 onwards.
