Nintendo Year In Review 2019

2019 may have not have had as many heavy hitters as previous years, but Switch owners still got a hefty offering of great exclusives like Pokemon, Luigi's Mansion 3, and Fire Emblem: Three Houses. 2019 is coming to a close, and this past year has been a great one for video games. That holds especially true for the Switch. Nintendo's hybrid console has been selling consistently well since it launched back in March 2017, and Nintendo continued the system's momentum with another slew of great releases. While the year started off slowly for the Switch in terms of exclusives, it ramped up considerably in the summer. The back half of the year was filled with big-name exclusive after big-name exclusive, including Super Mario Maker 2, Fire Emblem: Three Houses, The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening, and Pokemon Sword and Shield, the latter of which have overtaken Smash Bros. Ultimate as Switch's fastest-selling games to date. Nintendo has also made some modest but welcome improvements to its paid Switch Online service. The company slowly rolled out more NES games for subscribers to play throughout the year, and it even dropped a batch of SNES classics this past September. Nintendo also treated subscribers to some exclusive freebies throughout the year, most notably Tetris 99, a battle royale-inspired take on the puzzler that is free to download and play for NSO members. As good as the past year was, however, 2019 also had its share of rough patches. For all the improvements Nintendo has made to Switch Online, the service still can't measure up to the subscription services offered by rival companies, and the fact that new NES and SNES games are no longer being added on a monthly basis undercuts the advancements Nintendo has made. In the video above, we discuss how Nintendo fared during the year that was. Be sure to also check out our full Nintendo 2019 report card.

Xbox Year In Review 2019

We see how Microsoft did in 2019 by breaking down all of the major game releases and moments for Xbox. From Gears 5 and Crackdown 3, to the acquisition of new developers and the success of Game Pass. As 2019 comes to a close, GameSpot is looking back on the year that was. As usual, that includes coming up with a game of the year, but before that, we're looking at what Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo, and the PC industry have done in 2019. First up is Microsoft. In the video above, Jake Dekker, Peter Brown, and Jordan Ramée talk about Microsoft and the Xbox One family of consoles. The crux of the conversation focuses on Xbox Game Pass, Microsoft's console and PC service that allows subscribers to download a library of titles for a fraction of their total retail price. Game Pass is the best feature the Xbox One has going for it in the ongoing console war--the PS4 and Switch have nothing like it--and, this year, the subscription service let you download several stellar titles the day they launched, such as Gears 5 and The Outer Worlds, and promoted smaller indie games like Outer Wilds and Afterparty. The trio are also intrigued by what Microsoft did with Project xCloud in 2019 and excited to see that all those studio acquisitions in 2018 are leading to a wide variety of first-party titles for Xbox One in 2020. Microsoft's continued support of accessibility in games is nice to see too, and Xbox One now has one of the nicest controllers out there with the Elite Series 2. Overall it was a good year for Microsoft--the best it's had in a very long time--and it left the group feeling optimistic about what is planned for Xbox One and Project Scarlett in 2020. For more of GameSpot's end-of-the-year content, check out our report card for Sony / PlayStation 4. We have two more report cards scheduled too: PC and Nintendo / Switch.

Half-Life: Alyx And What We Know So Far

A new Half-Life game is coming to SteamVR with a roughly fifteen-hour campaign that takes place before Half-Life 2. The game focuses on Alyx Vance and includes headcrabs and the G-Man. Valve announced its next game, Half-Life: Alyx. And considering that 12 years have gone by since the last game in the series, Half-Life 2: Episode Two, fans (including ourselves) are hyped to see where this new game takes us. We do have a good idea of what it's going, though. The reveal trailer showed gameplay and teased its story, but also showcased why it's going in this direction. It's strictly a VR game, built from the ground up for virtual reality, but it's much more than what you might be used to. Half-Life: Alyx is said to be a 15-hour experience that puts you in the shoes of key character Alyx Vance, who seems to be trying to track down her dad and genius scientist Eli Vance in pursuit of a greater truth. The staples of Half-Life are here; headcrabs, barnacles, Combine threats, the rebellious spirit of the people of City 17, and so much more. But there are plenty of lore implications just from the trailer alone. Mechanics specific for VR look to be a big part of the game, too, as you see with the gloves that function similar to the Gravity Gun, and its seemingly complex puzzles and emphasis on environmental interaction. In the video above, we dig into the things that stood out to us in the reveal of Half-Life: Alyx and talk about what we know. Half-Life: Alyx launches in March 2020 and will be playable on any SteamVR-compatible headset--this includes Valve Index, HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, Oculus Quest (via PC Link), and Windows Mixed Reality. Folks who have Valve Index setups, or buy one today (up until the game's launch), will get the game for free. Otherwise, it'll be a full $60 game though a 10% pre-order discount is going on right now. We have the game covered from every angle, so be sure to read all our stories on Half-Life: Alyx.

The Most Disturbing Pokemon In The Pokedex

For all the happy-go-lucky Pokemon out there, the series has plenty of actual monsters too--Sword & Shield are no exception. These are the darkest Pokedex entries in the series. With the release of Pokemon Sword and Shield on Nintendo Switch, there are now nearly 900 different species of Pokemon out there. While the series is well known for its cute monsters--after all, Pikachu has been the adorable face of the franchise ever since it made its explosive debut in the late '90s--there are also some Pokemon that are much, much grimmer than you'd probably expect from a kids' game. In the video above, we share some of the most messed-up Pokemon in the series based on their Pokedex entries. From Pokemon that carry around the faces they had when they were alive to those that lure the souls of children away, these entries prove the Pokemon world is much more horrific than its wholesome image would have you believe. Sword and Shield are the latest entries in the series, and they introduce a bunch of messed up Pokemon of their own, keeping the tradition alive. You can read what we thought about the games in our Pokemon Sword and Shield review.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Guide - Best Skills To Unlock First

Jedi: Fallen Order has many fan-favorite Force powers and lightsaber attacks. Here’s a rundown of the best ones to unlock as soon as you can. Captured on PC. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order can be challenging with tough encounters involving Imperial mobs and the imposing Purge Troopers. There are bound to be players who are not familiar with this style of Soulsborne-like gameplay systems and just want to enjoy what Fallen Order brings to the Star Wars franchise. So, to help you get off the right foot, we've outlined the best skills to unlock in the video above. You'll want to boost your max health (Survival Skills) since healing is hard to come by in the opening hours and max Force (Force Attunement) since Force powers will be key throughout the game. The other thing to unlock early is Overhead Slash, which deals devastating blows to enemies. Once you start to open up your skill tree, look to upgrade Force Push. And eventually, you'll want to start strengthening Force Slow, as it's one of the more useful powers when things get tougher. As for Lightsaber skills, Dash Strike, Lightsaber Throw, Sprint Strike, and Delay Thrust are all useful in the right scenarios. In the video, we go into more detail on when you should unlock these and also show you how they're best used. For more on the game, check out our full Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order review, and if you're eager to jump into, be sure to take a look at our beginner's guide for more tips to help you become a true Jedi Knight. #StarWars #JediFallenOrder #Gameplay

Pokemon Sword And Shield Exclusives And Differences Explained

Pokemon Sword or Pokemon Shield? If you are still unsure about which version to buy, here are all the exclusive Pokemon and big differences between Sword and Shield. Every new Pokemon generation begins with the same question: Which version should you get? Like every pair of new generation games before them, both Pokemon Sword and Shield offer different experiences for players. None are as drastic as the differences between Pokemon Black and White, but you will find different Pokemon and encounter different Gym Leaders depending on which version you play. In the video above, Kurt Indovina details the differences between Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield. The main change revolves around the Gym Leaders you'll fight. Both versions have eight Ggyms each, but only six are the same across both games. In addition to the aforementioned six, in Pokemon Sword you'll also fight Bea, the fighting Ggym Lleader, and Gordie, the rock gym leader; in Pokemon Shield, you also go up against Allister, the ghost Ggym Lleader, and Melony, the ice Ggym Lleader. There are version-exclusive Pokemon, too--over a dozen beyond the legendaries on the two versions' covers. The new evolution of Farfetch’d, Sirfetch’d, is exclusive to Pokemon Sword, for example, as are older Pokemon, like Mawile. Meanwhile, Pokemon Shield has new Galarian Ponyta as an exclusive, as well as the much older Sableye. For the full list of exclusive Pokemon, watch the above video. If you're on the fence about picking up one (or both!) of the new Pokemon games, don't be. They're very good. In GameSpot's Pokemon Sword / Shield review, Kallie Plagge wrote, "In collecting, battling, and exploring, Sword and Shield cut out the bloat and focus on what makes these pillars of the Pokemon games so captivating in the first place. You're not held back by overly complicated back-end systems or hoops to jump through; from the outset, you can start wandering the Galar region, seeing its new Pokemon, and trying out its new battle strategies with very little in your way. This leaves you free to enjoy what Pokemon is all about, and that makes for an incredibly strong showing for the series' proper debut on Switch." #Pokemon #SwordAndShield

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order - How To Get A Scomp Link

When you start your journey, you'll come across tons of blocked-off areas, only accessible by BD-1's nifty Scomp Link. We'll show you how to get it so you can start unlocking secrets as soon as possible. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is available now on Xbox One, PS4, and PC. Early on in Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order's first major explorable area, BD-1's Scomp Link gets destroyed. This droid accessory allows you to plug into terminals to reveal hidden passageways and open locked chests. But without this handy tool, you're out of luck. You eventually get a new Scomp Link for BD-1 later on in the story, but you can get it earlier if it brings you being able to access many of the game's hidden stuff early. It's important to note that you can't get a new Scomp Link until a few hours into exploring the game's second planet, Zeffo. In the video above, we outline where exactly on the planet you can get a new Scomp Link for BD-1. Follow our directions and all your dreams to collect everything will come true. For more Star Wars Jedi: Fallen order guides, check out our beginner's guide and our feature on the best skills to unlock first. You can also read our full review, where editor Phil Hornshaw gave the game a ?/10 and said, "Fallen Order becomes perhaps the strongest conception of what playing as a Jedi Knight ought to really be like. It's true that Fallen Order borrows liberally from other action games, but those elements work together with Respawn's combat and environment design, and a story that finds humanity in the Force and in its characters, to hone in on what makes the world of Star Wars worthy of revisiting again and again. Even with some rough edges, Fallen Order represents one the most compelling game additions to the Star Wars franchise in years." #StarWars #JediFallenOrder

At some point in Death Stranding, you'll need to go toe-to-toe with enemies, and there are a bunch of creative ways you can take down your foes. Death Stranding is available now on PS4 and will be available on PC in 2020. As you continue through Death Stranding, BTs aren't the only enemies you'll have to worry about. You'll encounter antagonistic humans too, such as MULEs--a band of bandits that steal cargo from anyone who wanders into their territory. There are terrorists too, who are even more dangerous. Dealing with both groups can be tricky, but with the right equipment and strategy you can take out entire encampments. In the above video, Max Blumenthal details the different weapons and strategies best suited for taking out enemy MULEs and terrorists. You'll encounter MULEs first--as early as Chapter 2--but most of the equipment that you want for dealing with both groups is found in Chapter 3. You may want to beeline it to Chapter 3 as a result. Remember, no matter what affiliation they're a part of, you do not want to kill human enemies. Use less aggressive means when fighting MULEs and terrorists, whether that's hand-to-hand combat or firearms equipped with nonlethal bullets. If you're not sure you'll enjoy Death Stranding, check out our review. In GameSpot's Death Stranding review, Kallie Plagge writes, "Death Stranding is a hard game to absorb. There are many intertwining threads to its plot, and silly names, corny moments, and heavy exposition belie an otherwise very simple message. That comes through much more clearly in the game's more mundane moments, when you find a desperately-needed ladder left behind by another player or receive a letter from an NPC thanking you for your efforts. It's positive without ignoring pain; in fact, it argues in both its story and its gameplay that adversity itself is what makes things worth doing and life worth living. It's a game that requires patience, compassion, and love, and it's also one we really need right now." #DeathStranding #DeathStrandingGuide #Gameplay

We Completely Destroy Red Dead 2's Beautiful PC Graphics | Potato Mode

Potato Mode has returned for a special one-off video where we ruin one of the best-looking games out there, Red Dead Redemption 2. Jean-Luc Seipke has taken the reins but brought in a special guest to help make this Potato Mode feel right at home. Red Dead Redemption 2 is a beautiful game, made even more so by the recent release on PC that lets you really max out your graphical settings and effects. But what if the prettiest game this side of the Mississippi looked like hot garbage instead? Potato Mode, GameSpot's video feature series highlighting pretty games turned ugly, hung up its hat and spurs for an extended hiatus. But with the release of Red Dead 2 on PC, it had to giddy-up once more and showcase what happens when a Rockstar masterpiece gets dragged. Watch what happens when the detailed characters of the Old West epic turn into weird clay-like figures, and much more. It's all here, and it looks terrible ...in the best way. #RedDeadRedemption2 #PotatoMode

Death Stranding - Combat Veteran on Hard Mode S-Rank

Sam Porter takes on the terrifying Combat Veteran in the trenches of this World War I battlefield. Using cover and only the equipment found around you we fight this powerful soldier on the hardest difficulty. Death Stranding is available now on PS4 and will be available on PC in 2020. It’s likely that most of what you’ve seen of Death Stranding revolves around traversing vast plains or hiking across mountains while balancing a backpack full of packages; basically getting from one place to another in one piece. At its core, much of the gameplay tasks you with making deliveries and overcoming the challenges presented by the terrain. As Sam Porter Bridges you try to piece together what’s left of America. However, there is traditional combat in parts. Not only do BTs pose a great threat that’ll have you stressing when sneaking about, but you’ll have to get your hands dirty in combat. And in the video above, we show you an S-rank run of a long and intense boss fight on Hard difficulty. Later in the game, you take on the terrifying Combat Veteran in what appears to be the trenches of a World War I battlefield. You must use cover and the equipment found around you, and a few guns take him down and the deathly soldiers conjured up during the fight. Be warned, this video may contain spoilers. Death Stranding - Combat Veteran on Hard Mode S-Rank

 Před 25 dny

Death Stranding - Here's When You Get Your Assault Rifle

Guns are hard to come by in Death Stranding. In fact, it could take you 20 hours to get your first firearm. Here's how to get your first lethal gun, and why you probably shouldn't use it all that much. Killing people in Death Stranding isn't ideal, given that's how you end up with BTs or far worse. But maybe you don't care. Maybe you're tired of being nice. Maybe, in a game all about forming connections, you want to let off a little steam and severe other people's connection...to life. Well, there are lethal firearms in Death Stranding that can help you with that. In the video above, Jake Dekker and Ben Janca talk through the process of acquiring lethal firearms, why you may or may not want to use them, and what upgrades you're able to acquire for the weapons you unlock. Don't worry, they avoid story spoilers, simply mentioning the name of chapters and locations you should be on the lookout for. In Death Stranding, you can unlock a shotgun, pistol, and assault rifle (as well as grenades) for taking down enemies. You won't get any of these lethal firearms until the end of Chapter 3/beginning of Chapter 4, so don't bother looking in every nook and cranny throughout the first few hours of the campaign in search of a gun. You won't find what you're looking for. In fact, you should try to beeline it through Chapter 2 to get to Chapter 3 anyway. It's a game that requires patience, compassion, and love, and it's also one we really need right now." #DeathStranding #DeathStrandingTips #HideoKojima

Where’s The MONEH?! - Dirty Arty Episode 3

Dirty Arty is back and ready to sell out his friends! But first he needs a bit of cash. On this week’s episode, Rob and Jake venture to Roseway to break into some labs and sell some corporate secrets. Dirty Arty returns in the third episode of Season 2. In this episode, Arty needs money (like, a lot of money) in order to buy Udom's approval stamp. He could just nab himself a job with The Board, of course. If he was boring that is. It's way more fun to steal company secrets. In the video above, Rob Handlrey and Jake Dekker continue their rambunctious adventure through The Outer Worlds as Dirty Arty, who has left the heartland of America to find a life among the stars of a new solar system. The duo stumble upon plenty of new weapons, like the heavy machine gun and plasma scythe, giving Dirty Arty plenty of dangerous toys to play with. Perfect for breaking someone out a cell. If you want to watch Dirty Arty's exploits through The Outer Worlds from the very beginning, be sure to watch Season 2, Episode 1. For more context, you can watch Arty's origin story in Red Dead Redemption 2 in Season 1 of the show. In GameSpot's The Outer Worlds review, Edmond Tran wrote, "I finished The Outer Worlds wanting more, eager to jump back into the world to see extra things. It's not a short game, but it's one packed with such a steady stream of wonderful characters to meet, interesting places to explore, and meaningful, multi-layered quests to solve, that it didn't feel like there was any room to get tired of it. I wanted to rewind the clock and do everything in a completely different way. The Outer Worlds is consistently compelling throughout, and it's a superb example of how to promote traditional RPG sensibilities in a sharp, modern experience." #OuterWorlds #DirtyArty

Sam Porter, Expert Hiker - Death Stranding Slips

Bumps and bruises are bound to happen on your journey, so we show you how bad some of these tumbles can get. Death Stranding releases November 8th on PS4, with a PC version coming in 2020. One of Death Stranding's greatest strengths is how well it captures the experience of hiking through the wilderness. Unlike most open-world games, where you just use a thumbstick to move between point A and point B, in Death Stranding you have to keep yourself balanced and take environmental factors into consideration. When you don't, it can lead to some hilarious falls. As funny as protagonist Sam looks when he's tumbling down the side of a mountain, it's not actually something you want to happen on a regular basis. Losing your footing can cause you to drop what you're carrying or see you take a hit on your stamina. Neither is ideal if you're looking to deliver your parcels undamaged in a timely manner. It's probably best to enjoy Sam's misery throughout our pitiful hiking skills in the video above--falling down in your own game may leave you a tad frustrated. Just enjoy Death Stranding. It's a good game. In GameSpot's Death Stranding review, Kallie Plagge wrote, "Death Stranding is a hard game to absorb. Death Stranding: Here's How The Social Strand System Works

Although Death Stranding doesn't have any traditional multiplayer modes, the social aspects are a huge part of the experience. Here's how the Social Strand system works in the game. Death Stranding is built around the idea that everyone is connected in some sort of way, not just thematically, but in its core gameplay, too. It’s the premise that drives its multiplayer component, which is far from what we’d traditionally expect multiplayer to be. In the video above, we explain exactly how multiplayer works in Death Stranding. It borrows elements of asynchronous multiplayer components from the Soulsborne games where other players who enable online features can leave behind things for you to find in your own game. But Death Stranding takes that idea and runs with it, hence the Social Strand system. You can build ladders, structures, and generators to leave behind for other players, and they can do the same for you--oftentimes, these are lifelines for surviving in the game itself. With traversal at the heart of Death Standing, bridges to cross rivers or ropes to scale hills will make your life easier and perhaps save you in critical situations. Multiplayer in Death Stranding is certainly unique and it puts these connections at the forefront of the game. So, if you plan on jumping into the game or have started and are still wondering about how the system works, watch our video above. Death Stranding - When You Get Your First Vehicle and Hot Bike Tips

Learn when you get your first vehicle, the reverse trike, in Death Stranding, as well as some useful tips to drive like a pro and avoid combat. For the most part, Death Stranding is an excellent hiking simulator that forces you to manage your balance and remain aware of the terrain and weather as you walk across its gorgeous map. However, if you're looking for a little more speed, you can jump on a vehicle to expedite your journey. In the video above, we detail when you find and how you unlock your first vehicle in Death Stranding--the Reverse Trike, a motorcycle-like form of transportation. Finding the trike is easy enough, you'll probably run into it within the first few hours of playing through the campaign. Upon reaching Distribution Center West in Capital Knot City, you'll discover a Reverse Trike that's covered in rust and lacking a functional battery. You won't be able to do anything about it, though, so just keep doing what you're doing. A few hours later, after you've completed a few more delivery missions and pushed the campaign forward, you'll find your way to the Wind Farm. Here, you unlock the ability to craft a generator. Do so, and then make the trek back to the rusted trike. Insert the new battery and you'll have a working Reverse Trike, which should help make future deliveries a little faster. Keep in mind, you don't always want to use the Reverse Trike. All vehicles in the game produce noise, making them less ideal for traveling through BT-infested territory. The Reverse Trike also relies on a battery, which loses its charge whenever you deviate off a road--which is pretty much all the time, especially early on. Take care of the bike and it will make your journey through Death Stranding a lot easier, but failure to do so may cause you to be stranded in a perilous situation. In GameSpot's Death Stranding review, Kallie Plagge wrote, "Death Stranding is a hard game to absorb. 9 Essential Starter Tips For Death Stranding

Death Stranding's opening hours can be tough. Accomplishing objectives and delivering cargo is simple enough, but navigating the game's bizarre, often treacherous world is the biggest challenge. If Death Stranding's first three chapters are giving you a hard time, then we got 9 tips to help you start your journey. Slow And Steady Gets You Through Tough Terrain When you take your first steps during the opening hours, you'll immediately notice that even basic movement feels particularly demanding. There is a purpose for this, and it's all about putting you in the shoes of a delivery man carrying a heavy load of valuable cargo across treacherous landscapes. Unlike other open-world games where covering large amounts of ground can be easy, Death Stranding has a considerably slower pace. You're intended to travel across long stretches carrying tons of cargo, but if you're not smart about how you navigate the environment, Sam can quickly lose his footing and eat dirt. Slow and steady movement is the name of the game in Death Stranding, and you'll need to be constantly aware of the topography you're walking across. Take it slow and pay attention to the surfaces you're walking; be wary of rocks and steep inclines. By using the Odradek, Sam's shoulder-mounted robot assist, you can better evaluate the finer details on the ground ahead of you. Surfaces marked blue by the scanner are safe to walk across, while ground marked yellow should be approached with caution. If it's marked red, such as deep rivers or rough surfaces, then you're better off avoiding them entirely. There will be some cases where you'll have to traverse across tough terrain with tons of cargo, and when that happens, be sure to exercise caution. If you're ever afraid of how you might cross a terrain, start by holding the shoulder buttons to stabilize your center of gravity and walk through it first before picking up the pace. Inventory Management 101 A crucial part of Death Stranding is managing and expanding your inventory. Depending on how you choose to organize your backpack and other inventory slots, Sam's poise, posture, and speed will be affected. You can eventually acquire exoskeletons to boost the overall carry limit, but it's essential to understand the basics in the beginning. First, you need to ensure that you're keeping track of what's on your body at all times. While exploring, it can be easy to pick up stray cargo, and before you know it, you'll find that Sam's stamina is reduced and his ability to balance is negatively impacted. There's a consequence for every item added to your inventory if you’re not careful. Even if you're far under the carry limit, you can still notice an impact on your movement speed and balance with enough things stacked on you. #DeathStranding #DeathStrandingTips #Gameplay #HideoKojima #DeathStrandingGuide

9 Essential Starter Tips For Death Stranding

 Před 29 dny

Death Stranding - How Timefall And Weather Works

Death Stranding introduces a number of concepts and gameplay mechanics on top of each other, and one of the most important to understand is the weather systems. Chief among these is Timefall, a dangerous type of rain that degrades items you're carrying much faster than usual--as if time itself is moving faster. Death Stranding releases on Playstation 4 on November 8th, 2019 and is coming to the PC in the summer of 2020. Death Stranding introduces and layers a number of concepts and gameplay mechanics on top of each other, and one of the most important to grasp and manage is the weather systems. Chief among these is Timefall, a dangerous type of rain that degrades items you're carrying much faster than usual--as if time itself is moving faster. In the video above, we take a closer look at how the Timefall system works and how to best manage it--from finding shelter in the early game to cargo loading strategies. You can't ever make yourself totally impervious to Timefall, but as the game progresses you'll find yourself much more capable at handling yourself in it. But degrading equipment isn't the only threat posed by the weather in Death Stranding. In addition to Timefall management strategies, we also go over what it means when you see the clouds turn dark and inky (hint: nothing good) and how to navigate the treacherous snowy mountains to the north. Be ready. #DeathStranding #DeathStrandingTips #Gameplay

Death Stranding - Trailers VS Game Release Cinematics

Death Stranding has come a long way from it's first 2016 trailer. Here is a comparison between some of Death Stranding's earliest trailers to the final PS4 cinematics. The first trailer is the E3 2016 reveal trailer. Next, we compare the 2017 TGA trailer with the in-game cinematics of the game’s final release being played on a PS4 Pro. Sometimes early teasers and trailers for video games don't reflect the final product. In extreme cases it's night and day, but usually the differences are minor--either a small change the studio decided to make in the midst of development or alterations to hide a detail that would spoil the game. There are actually quite a few differences between the trailers and gameplay for Death Stranding--about 10 minutes worth. In the video above, we showcase several of the key differences between what was shown in Death Stranding's E3 2016 reveal trailer (our very first look at the game) and the actual cutscenes seen in the final product that was released over three years later. There are graphical differences, obviously, but there are less significant changes between the two as well. In the scene where Sam Bridges wakes up on the beach, crawls to his BB, and begins to cradle it, for example, the handcuff that links him to his infant companion changes arms between the trailer and the game. In the trailer, Sam wears it on his left, while in the game it's on his right. The scene is longer in the trailer version as well. In GameSpot's Death Stranding review, Kallie Plagge wrote, "Death Stranding is a hard game to absorb. It's a game that requires patience, compassion, and love, and it's also one we really need right now." #DeathStranding #TrailerVSCinematic
